Interested in future workplace trends? Are you graduating soon and not really sure how to market yourself to potential employees? Well come along to BusCom’s event this May and find ‘Your Hire Purpose!’ We are incredibly pleased to announce that two industry professionals, Michelle Crawford and Alli Baker have so generously donated their time to speak at this event. Michelle is the founder and Chief conversationalist at Being More Human, an HR consulting company who believe that people are a firm’s most precious resource and that a business’ quest for efficiencies must not dilute the value of their human resources.   Alli is the CEO and co-founder of Workible – an online platform to link job seekers with job providers. Alli is also involved in the Jobs Agenda – an initiative to unleash the potential of Australia’s workforce by tackling the challenges that hold people back from getting work. For less than the price of a few cups of coffee you can listen to both of these amazing entrepreneurs discuss topics like the future of work, where graduates should aim within the future economy, new ways of hiring and how you can present yourself to potential employees. This is a great chance for students to network with professionals and pick the brains of two highly successful thought leaders in the HR industry. Tickets to this event will be $5 for members and $10 for non-members. Dash Co-Working space in Charlestown will be our host for the evening, and light refreshments will begin from 6pm. The University of Newcastle Business and Commerce Association and Charter Accountants Australia and New Zealand, invites all members and guests to attend the second annual Women in Business Breakfast. This is our largest professional event of the year, that empowers and educates, both men and women, about the roles of women in all areas of business. The Women in Business Breakfast sees Founder and Director of Fresh Marketing, Sarah Dennis and Senior Human Resources Executive and Principal of Productivity Through Leadership, Maree Slater, share some of their experiences, insights and stories from their business careers.  From business start ups to corporate boards to established companies, Sarah and Maree will give you their thoughts on unique and creative approaches to building a career path in today’s world.
